There is only a limited time until CHIEF closes and the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) switches over - ARE YOU READY?
Have you set up your CDS account?
If not, Register for CDS as soon as you can.
Subscribe to the Customs Declaration Service - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
There are several functions within CDS that your business will require.
i.e. Postponed VAT statements, Deferment Account Number (DAN) authority, etc.
Do you have a DAN?
If so, have you set up a new direct debit instruction?
This must be done in CDS otherwise you will not be able to use your deferment account.
Have you set up a "Standing Authority"?
For Allstar or any other customs broker to use your Deferment account, you need to set up a "Standing Authority"
If you have previous authorised us via a C1207N form, this will no-longer be valid.
It must be done again in CDS.
You will need our EORI number to complete this authorisation.

Failure to act on the above will cause delays to your shipments and potentially storage charges
HMRC has issued guidance videos on how to set up all the above and more. See below…
If you are unsure what you need to do, please do not call our office but follow the guidance online and below.

Mandatory changes to Customs Handling of Import & Export Freight - CDS replacing CHIEF
All importers and exporters who participate in customs declarations in the UK need to be ready for the change from CHIEF to the new Customs Declaration Service (CDS).
All traders, agents or freight forwarders involved in exporting and importing to and from the UK will need to migrate to CDS.
We have provided the relevant links below for information and guidance on how to ensure a smooth transition on to the new platform.
If you do not take action to register with CDS you will be unable to continue registering your import/export entries through Allstar Logistics Ltd.
Importers with special customs authorisations:If you have special authorisations with customs such as inward processing, customs warehousing and CFSP, you should have received new authorisation paperwork from HMRC that includes a specific CDS authorisation number. We need you to supply us with this information.
All UK importers: CDS will be the only place to obtain C79 certificates and postponed VAT certificates and to take advantage of postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) you must be registered on CDS.
